How to Calibrate a Process Meter: Step-by-Step

Step 1: Inspect the tool, check the battery, and allow it to stabilize. Examine the terminals, test leads, and pressure fittings for damage, verify the battery is healthy under load, and let the instrument acclimate at 23 °C ± 5 °C before testing.

Step 2: Perform “as found” verification. Record measure and source readings at every test point across all functions before any adjustment. As-found data proves whether the transmitters and loops trimmed with this tool were actually set correctly.

Step 3: Verify the measure and source paths separately.
