Yes. Bath is roughly 590 highway miles from our Gaithersburg, Maryland laboratory, so it sits well outside our Mid-Atlantic pickup and delivery radius. We serve Bath and Sagadahoc County two ways: prepaid ship-in calibration with a typical five-business-day turnaround, and scheduled onsite calibration appointments at your facility. The same ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, NIST-traceable standards, and certificate format apply either way.

Tra-Cal maintains ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation, and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and Z540.3 conformance is available. Warship construction programs, however, flow their own contract-specified calibration and quality requirements down through the prime and its suppliers, and those are not automatically satisfied by a commercial accreditation scope. Send us the specification you are held to and we will confirm in writing what our current scope covers before you ship anything. Standard turnaround for in-lab calibration is approximately five business days from receipt of the instrument. Shipping from the Midcoast adds transit time in each direction, so plan on roughly two weeks door to door for a routine ship-in job. Expedited turnaround is available on request and depends on instrument type, parameter scope, and current lab volume.

Each calibration certificate documents traceability through NIST, includes as-found and as-left data where applicable, lists the standards used, the calibration procedure reference, environmental conditions, and the technician. Certificates are designed to support AS9100, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 quality system audits.

Yes. Onsite calibration is available for fixed assets, large inventories, and instruments that should not be transported. Visits to Bath, Woolwich, Topsham, and Brunswick are scheduled in advance, and because the Midcoast is a long trip from Gaithersburg they are most economical when several instruments or several nearby sites are grouped into one appointment. The calibration is performed in a controlled environment at your facility with full documentation.

A packaging guide is provided when you request a quote. In general, instruments should be powered down, accessories included where required for calibration, and packed with appropriate cushioning. If an instrument is sensitive to a cold soak during winter transit out of Maine, note it on the request so we can allow stabilization time before calibration.
